Day 1 was pretty much travel day. Our flight left at 5:40 am from Omaha and of course it started snowing the night before so we left at like 10pm and just slept in the car till 3:30ish. It wasn't worth the money to get a room for a couple of hours. We flew to Atlanta then to Tampa, which created for a long day of flying. We got to customs/port at around 2:30ish, but with all the hoopla of going thru security and such it was 3ish by the time we got on the boat. We departed at 4pm, so we were pretty much hurded onto the boat and left there to figure out everything. :( Very disappointing.
We had no clue what to do or where to begin. Thank god for an awesome group of Carroll peeps. If we could do all over again, I would want to go the night before and board the ship as soon as you can, I think that was noonish, so we had time to get acquainted with the ship. It's HUGE and you need that time to get acquainted. I don't think we hit up everything that was on the ship.
This was everyone from the Carroll Area that went with us. We knew noone before, but made some wonderful friendships.
This was grouchy Ted from Carnival, the bus was not cooperating with him.
Kelly and myself on the bus ride to the ship.
Downtown Tampa Florida, wish we could have stayed longer to explore.
Kelly going thru customs.
This was our Stateroom on the ship. Small but functional. So worth the extra money for a window too. Others from the group did not have a window and they disliked their room.
Very Small but very functional bathroom.
Bathroom view #2.
Lido Desk...most popular.
Water Slide that was on the Verandah Deck. We never made it down the slide due to it being very very windy, which made it kind of chilly. Maybe I'm just a wussy.
As we were leaving Tampa, gorgeous view.
Like I said, it was very windy.
The Florida Coastline.
That night we grabbed some food and was in bed by 8pm. I know....Party Poopers!!! But we need to catch up on our sleep from the night before. Our Stewart, Aganes, knocked on our door about a bazillion times. The next morning when we saw her she was wondering if we had died in there.
Stay Tune to Day 2 of Cruisin 2011..............
